I think the United States should be a little more democratic. We should be able to directly vote for president. That way there wouldn’t be a case where one candidate has more popular votes and the other has more electoral votes so he would win. That is what happened in 1824 with Andrew Jackson and John Quincy Adams. Jackson had more popular votes meaning more of the people actually voted for him but Adams had more electoral votes meaning more of the electors voted for him. If we voted directly for the president, then this wouldn’t happen. Also, we should have some say in the laws and bills. If they want to pass a law preventing abortion, we should be able to say whether we want that or not. It shouldn’t just be up to the people of Congress. I don’t mind the way we are now but I think we could change to be a little more democratic.

Yellow is my favorite color. I don’t like to wear it that often and I don’t like it used in furniture or decorating but it is my favorite color. Why? Because it makes me happy! Yellow makes me think of sunshine and sunshine makes me think of happiness. When I see the bright yellow that I love, I think of smiles and laughter. Yellow is there to represent the fun times you have with your friends or the laughter with your family over some silly little joke. To me the times in life that you are the happiest are the moments of yellow. That is why I like the color yellow.

Imagine if there were to be no more electoral votes in the U.S. and everyone directly voted for president. There would probably have to be a few qualifications before you could vote. You would have to be a legal citizen of the U.S. We couldn’t have someone from another country voting for our president. Also, you would have had to have a good education because if you haven’t learned anything, you won’t know who would make a good president because you wouldn’t know what was happening. Other than that, I can’t think of any other restriction on who should vote.

The most dangerous question you can ask someone is somewhere along the line of: What don’t you like about me? Or: What is wrong with me?
By saying this you are setting yourself up for critique. You are putting yourself in a place where you can easily get you feelings hurt. It is dangerous because seconds later you could be running away crying because of the response.

Lauren, Mallorie, and I worked on a project together. Check this out. When you read it down, it is from the point of a soldier leading the Native Americans along the Trail of Tears. When you read it up it is form the point of a Cherokee Indian. It is so cool.
Soldiers are rightfully claiming their land
I refuse to believe
The Cherokee own this territory
That is a lie
This is what’s best
They say
This is wrong
I say
It’s our land
We declare
What’s rightfully ours
We need
The Tribe to give up their land east of the Mississippi
They want
To stay, but
We want
For the white people to be able to use that land
The Cherokee are forced to leave
The US needs the land
I don’t care that
Tears are falling on the ground
Our
Troops guide the way
The suffering continues for the Cherokee
The tribe is forced to travel with the agony of hunger, thirst, and the loss of a home
But still
The Cherokee are uncivilized
I do not believe
The tribe is worthy of keeping the land
The tribe should be forced to leave, because I know
Christian farmers need that land
I don’t believe that just because
They want the land for their selfish reasons
They should get it
It’s wrong to think
We
Don’t
Need that land more than they do
We
Are doing the right thing
I refuse to think they
Should have the land that we need
The Cherokee Tribe
Just doesn’t realize what this land means to us
The US

If my name were a verb, it would mean to dance. Dancing is my life and I do it so often that my name could definitely mean it. Some people would say that my name should mean to study or get good grades but dancing means so much to me. I dance three times a week. I dance for a total of about 4 hours and 45 minutes each week, although I spend 1 hour and 45 minutes helping teach younger kids to dance. I think that it would sound funny saying “I’m going to megan” or “Let’s megan” but if it were a verb it would sound normal.
